JSB-Ensemble Oslo
Since 2019, JSB-Ensemble Oslo has created projects that bring the old and the new together. The ensemble is made up of stylistically versatile performers who are among Norway's leading ensemble singers and soloists.
The ensemble has given the Norwegian premieres of Gérard Grisey's Les Chants de l'Amour for twelve singers and electronics and Salvatore Sciarrino's 12 Madrigali. It has performed music by Vittoria/Raffaella Aleotti, Maddalena Casulana and other rarely performed Renaissance and Baroque composers, as well as staged projects. The ensemble has appeared at the Oslo Chamber Music Festival, Nordland Musikkfestuke and the Bodø International Organ Festival.
The ensemble is led by the conductor Julia Selina Blank and the baritone Halvor F. Melien. Blank is regularly engaged as a guest conductor with international ensembles such as the Rundfunkchor Berlin, the Groot Omroepkoor in the Netherlands and the MDR-Chor.
